Getting To Know Alison

As a company that started with a single individual from scratch, we can heavily relate to the very well known and talented Alison Giese, owner and operator of Alison Giese Interiors. Recently we had the opportunity to speak and collaborate with Alison after we were given the privilege of manufacturing some of our beautiful wrought iron doors for her amazing home. 

From the moment she entered our showroom to having to say goodbye at the end of our meeting, Alison radiated nothing but positive energy and a blissful personality! To say the least, she was an absolute delight to be around. After speaking with her for only 10 minutes, it wasn’t hard to see why her company continues to grow at the astonishing rate that it is. Alison seems to separate herself with unique ideas that stand out from the rest using a combination of maximum floor plan utilization, one-of-a-kind furniture, and various types of art; while the large majority of clients tend to stand a bit too close to the elephant and think of simple ideas such as floor plans, wall color, and cabinets, Alison employes her design skills with color coordination, use of central themes, and furniture placement. 

It was because of her astounding knowledge in design and gorgeous portfolio in creating beautiful spaces that we were ecstatic when she had contacted us for incorporating our products into her personal home. Not long after installation of her Riva Steel Doors we knew that a collaboration was needed! Alongside a upcoming virtual tour hosted by Alison Giese herself, we wanted to ask a few questions to get a better idea of the mind behind “Alison Giese Interiors”.

What is it about interior design that motivates you to get out of bed every morning? 

Alison - “I love homes, and I love helping people feel their best by living in a home that works for them in a beautiful way.”

Is there anything you wish you could have told yourself before starting Alison Giese Interiors? 

Alison - “Something I wish I could've ingrained in my mind before starting my business is not to compare where others are in their journey with where I'm at.  We all have to start somewhere, and sometimes our paths are more winding than direct, and that's something to celebrate.”

Throughout your life you have experienced a lot of change. From multiple degrees, jobs, and even moving overseas. While I personally take joy in knowing that you have pursued a career that you love and are proud to do, there are others that are afraid to pursue their dreams due to fear. Do you have any advice for those individuals?

Alison - “I truly feel with every opportunity for growth, there is inherent risk.  I don't advise someone to take unnecessary risks, but manageable risk can lead to great reward. So, I guess my advice would be to assess the fear - is it something that can be managed by taking small risks to move toward the direction of your passion?”

Wise words from a wise woman; with an emphasis on the word “wise” considering that just five years into “Alison Giese Interiors” and this successful business has already been recognized by National and Regional publications, and selected as one of the top 100 designers in the Washington DC area. Recently having moved to San Antonio, Texas, there is no doubt in our minds that Alison Giese Interiors will continue to grow exponentially as she continues to help others create their dream homes.
